Mr Pillay currently heads up the Community Architecture and Leadership in Red Hat Asia Pacific.
He has been with Red Hat since 2003 when he helped set up the Singapore/Asia Pacific operations of Red Hat. In 2019, Red Hat was acquired by IBM for a cash offer of US$34 billion and is now a distinct and separate subsidiary of IBM.
In 2013 he was a recipient of SPRING Singapore (now Enterprise Singapore) Distinguished Partner Award for helping with driving standards adoption in IT in Singapore and around the world.
In 2005, he was inducted in the Council of Outstanding Early Career Engineers of the College of Engineering, Oregon State University for his contributions to engineering and the global open source technology community. He is one of the most qualified Singaporeans to lead the nation’s digital transformation.
