About Abdul Rahman

Starting his career with the Singapore Fire Brigade back in 1975, Abdul Rahman is now a Fellow with the Institution of Fire Engineers UK. He subsequently did engineering maintenance and design with projects like IBM Towers and Marco Polo Hotel. and rose to become the Divisional Manager of WH Brennan, and Regional Manager of Fabristeel Pte Ltd. He is currently working with Parsons International as the Consulting Engineer specializing in Fire and Life Safety audit and design.

Rahman: Beneath the glamour of the city, there are 250k that live below the poverty line. Their kids are disadvantaged but I want to help look at policies that allow them to break out of the poverty cycle. Has self-help groups for education support including Mendaki, done enough for these people? This is something we must certainly look at!

“I will call for a transparent and open review on the efficiency of the funding models by agencies like Mendaki.
